RNLI <3 SNSM

This week's task has been to host 12 members of the SNSM Antibes to a Damn good time @ the Mumbles. They invited us to their rally 2008, where we "Twinned" our stations.
I think it's Mission accomplished!
They had a trip on Tenby's Tamar, a round Gower tour, A visit to MCA Swansea Tutt Head, and to top it all, were winched up to Rescue 169. What a week!

Choppers!

I've just been winched up to Rescue 169, RAF Search & Rescue helicopter, operating out of Chivenor in North Devon. I am chuffed.

6 of us were uploaded, and then taken for a spin along the gower coast with the door open. Absolutely breathtaking stuff.

Tonight, we dine in Hull!

The featured article on Wiki today was 300

I was first given a tip-off by NJB of "A Welsh Born Icon" fame, who spotted this adaptation of the Frank Miller comic book. Being a story I love, how could I fail to love the film, especially as it was released on my birthday. If I had gotten my way, Dylan would have been Leonidas, or Leo for short.

It also co-stars Vincent Regan, one of Nick's Welsh born Icons, born in Swansea 5 years after me.

Thought for the day

Interesting debate going on at the brights website, re. Thought for the day

"Thought for the Day pledge
==========================

A massive number of Brights signed up to Gavin Orland's pledge. For those that didn't bellow is the note he sent out to all those who supported him.

As a follow up to this initiative there is a new pledge:

Of course there are also the podcasts supplied by the Humanist Society of Scotland at:

and, perhaps best of all an amusing antidote to TFTD at:
