BRYNGLAS AT LAST?

BBC News - Will the new Welsh first minister complete the journey to delivering M4 relief?

An M4 relief road and potential for a third Menai crossing have revved their way back on to the political agenda. The first minister said "something has to be done" - but it is still not exactly clear what solutions the new Plaid Cymru Welsh government will put forward.

Mmm. At least a statement of intent. I wonder if he can pull a rabbit out of a hat, & come up with a solution that will gain political agreement.

One possible solution seems to be the nazzano method

Originally developed and successfully implemented in Italy, the Nazzano method allows an existing tunnel to be widened while remaining open to traffic. The technique involves constructing a new, larger tunnel shell around the existing bore, maintaining traffic flow throughout the works, and then removing the old lining once the new structure is complete.

The 2014 consultation offered no solution

I desperately hope a solution can be found, and not just to make the journey easier for the Matties, but for the good of the South Wales economy.
